BIOGRAPHY


Musician,IMPROVISER,ELECTRONIC/ACOUSMATIC composer,BASSIST and percussionist.

Polish artist tranferred in Italy from the age of six years. He founded in 1991 with David Saggiorato the Kor-at, group of industrial music experiences in which he plays the percussions. The band does some concerts and does soundtrack of the remake of the film of David Linch “Eraserhead”, realized by a Turin independent film maker. Unfortunately recordings of that period do not exist.
In 1992 he left Kor-at and he recorded the first solo job with the Glockenspiel name, published like demotape.
In 1993 he founded BIANCA BELMONT with Alberto Pasino. The band, been born like duo, increases to five elements in 1995, with Renzo Razzano on second bass, Marcello Turco on trumpet and Max to the saxophone. They recorded two demotapes, respectively in 1993 and 1995, both remastereded in the end of 1995,and edited dy Setola di Maiale.
Between 1997 and 1998 he recorded and published the first “homely deliriums” with the name of PENTLICZEK, using ethnic percussions, instruments, guitars and tapes. he participated with this project in some compilations of the sicilian label Snowdonia: “Orchestre Meccaniche Italiane” (1997), “Sbim Sbam” (1998), “International Gluttons” (1999).
In 1998 he begans to collaborate stablily with Stefano Giust and his SETOLA DI MAIALE label, he defines Stefano: the “better companion to sonic deviating lines” and with him he founded the "anti-jazz" project called GBUR.
In the recording of the first job of Gbur, beside the two members of Bianca Belmont (Renzo and Marcello), joins Paul Caleo.
In 1999 the original line up always changes and in place of Renzo and Marcello there was three new elements: Ivan Pilat to tenor sax and baritone and Daniel “el desviado reverendo surrealista” Pagliero,(aka LO DEV ALM) to the electronics and Maurizio Suppo aka Dimensionidol.Caleo Paul who originally played the guitar now handle one instrument self builded, named “Caleophone”. With this line up they plays in Venice in 1999 on occasion of the 48th BIENNALE and the next year to the Leoncavallo in Milan for the OFFEST meeting of Italian independent labels.
In a night of December of 2000 it records with Stefano Giust and Daniele Pagliero a series of unexpected traces that will come later on published with the name of BABELIS PROJECT, always on Setoladimaiale and in co-production with the Mexican label GENITAL PROD.
In the July of 2006, at a distance of eight years made a new record under the name of Pentliczek, published for Setoladimaiale.

"(...) Son trascorsi dieci anni dall'ultimo incontro con il progetto Gbur. Ci avevano lasciati con il doppio “Integrale”. Tornano in otto. Gbur, svomitazza sei tranci di carne viva, che nascono infetti d'impro, ma ben più strutturati d'uno sberleffo paiono. Gbur si incaponisce (bene...) nell'indagar un territorio in forte pendenza. L'approccio, questo, è rustico, odoroso, e debitamente di taglio punk dadaista. Cool come pochi; altroché. E si ha voglia di non dover attendere altri dieci anni. Nel catalogo SST di un tempo, avrebbero fatto un figurone, ora, li dovrebbero pagare, per starci su quel catalogo. Eretici in frenetica azione funk (la nostra Arkestra?)."

"Un gruppo – italiano, per giunta – che già agli albori degli anni Novanta proponeva un rock per niente restio ad accogliere inviti e provocazioni dub, black, kraut, no wave, jazz e world music... New wave assai ragionata e sfrontata dieci anni prima di LIARS, DEERHOF e compagnia, dunque, ma all'ombra della Mole ed in tempi non ancora pronti a farsi lambire dai flutti di quella new wave reinassance che sarebbe esplosa di lì a poco... E' allora SdM ad assumersi il compito di preservare - rimasterizzandoli in una edizione CD-R - questi tesori nascosti inizialmente apparsi su nastri autoprodotti tra il '93 ed il '95: il tutto - servisse a dimostrarlo anche solo la mancanza di tempismo, disastrosa, in termini latamente commerciali -, in maniera disinteressata e passionale... Processo che appare ancor più naturale se si pensa che il leader di BIANCA BELMONT, Dominik Gawara, sarebbe diventato presto uno dei massimi animatori dell'etichetta."..

"Deaf Slug Md 16, è l'ennesimo progetto di Dominik Gawara.Semplicemente folle.Contorto, sfuggente, laterale, un salto nel vuoto senza rete di protezione ed una qualità eccelsa   che stantuffa incontenibile nelle vene.
Gawara è tentacolare, Bianca Belmont, Gbur, Pentliczek, Ffatso, Babelis Project, questo sfogo convulso ed ipnotico, produzioni sempre sopra la media; sempre protese in avanti.
Deaf Slug, è lavoro di basso (lo strumento, corde, corpo, cavi e derive), torturato, stratificato e martellato.
Ed i virtuosismi, son bocconi velenosi, azzannati e subito sputati da Dominik.
“The Breach”, sono otto stordenti e giocose costruzioni ardite, che si tramutano in gioco insolente, dove si possono incontrare spunti/sputi industriali, bacchettate e ditate gommose, che diresti Les Claypool alle prese con un brutto atterraggio post qualcosa, l'incubo peggiore di ogni seguace di Stanley Clarke, etnicismo zoppo, volontariamente asfaltato e tragico spirito alla Residents.
I Cabaret Voltaire di “Red Mecca” e “Three Mantras”, persi nell'alcool alle prese con febbrili slanci zappiani, anche un rigurgito di ballo alterato, a pompar sottopelle, ulteriori tossine.
Dall'iniziale Bynthet, sino alla conclusiva Cuttle-Fish, è un unico avanzare, caparbiamente ipnotico, stordito e caracollante.
Che induce al sorriso, al brivido; ed al plauso.
Registrato in una stanza, con la porta ben chiusa.
Ora la porta è aperta, la stanza è vuota, e Gawara è fuori in strada.
Statevi accorti e sostenetelo apertamente nel suo folle intento.
Geniale ed ostica devianza.
